Ziegeleihof Glindow

The task was to reactivate, modernize, and expand the grounds of the Glindow brickyard by adding a brickworks museum with workshop facilities. The design stands out for its holistic approach, as it extends across the entire property of the brickyard.

The goal is to preserve and carefully complement the existing buildings to maintain their historical character. In the north, the museum courtyard with the museum, café, and existing buildings is created as an inviting forecourt for the activation of the waterfront. In the south, two studios fit into the gaps of the manufacturing plant, forming a clear spatial edge towards the east. The uniform facades made of solid brick make the individual interventions appear as a coherent composition. The existing structures are reactivated, modernized, and repurposed for workshops, offices, or a showroom. A planned tour provides visitors with information about production processes and the history of the site.
