Mood for Wood

MOOD FOR WOOD - The international architecture workshop in 2021 was titled "Into the Wild." Architecture students from Poland, Germany, and Latvia formed groups to design and build five pieces of urban furniture aimed at bringing the wildlife closer to the residents of Poznan.

cIn the group work led by Iwo Borkwicz and Adam Siemaszkiewicz (JeJu Studio), an observation point for birds was created at the "Sunny Pond" in Legi Debinski, Poznan.

The concept is based on a grid that serves as both a static foundation and is adapted to the natural environment. This grid is clad with wooden boards, allowing the resulting area to be used for relaxation. Towards the lake, there is a recess where a bench is embedded. Through this, one can observe and photograph birds at eye level with the water surface.

You can find a video illustrating the concept and impressions of the finished project on YouTube. The project was published in the architecture magazine "Architektura & Biznes", among others and was nominated for the NAWW Award in the category "common spaces".
